Has your work been disrupted or game messed up by a Checkpoint Zone Alarm nagging pop-up like this one?

For
free firewall users, Zone Alarm works like ransomware. Unless you pay US 40$ for a pro version, you will be interrupted regularly by advertising pop-ups even when the Game Mode is active. It happens usually a few minutes after you have started your computer, when you start you web browser, and in mornings.
If you don't want to suffer from CheckPoint pushing desperately their non-free products, here are instructions how to disable pop-ups. Disabling nagging pop-ups has no effect to the firewall, and it will fix a potential security problem caused by the
CEF browser they use.
To disable CEF, rename the file
Code: Select all
C:\Program Files (x86)\CheckPoint\ZoneAlarm\cef\cefsimple.exe

Just like with
Avast, Zone Alarm updates appear to have more malware-like features and spam pushing other products than any actual security improvements. That is why I do not recommend updating their products.
