Amazon is deleting reviews that point out errors in product information. They are not correcting it either even if you report errors to them. This means that you can not trust Amazon reviews because they are one-sided and missing the critical information about inaccurate product information. And because they already doctor their reviews, there is no guarantees that some other reviews might not be censored as well, for example those pointing out the numerous errors Amazon is making mishandling their customers etc.

Se for example this case. The rechargeable battery has in the product information 2100 mAh capacity, but when you order the product you get only 800 mAh which is less 40% of the promised capacity. Amazon reviews are a censored scam: We could not post your review of Amazon reviews are a censored scam: We could not post your review of Those batteries were useless for me and ended up polluting our planet for nothing. I reported them the error week ago and they did not bother to correct it. Here is a link to the verbatim archived product information and live product information at Amazon website. I also wrote a review pointing this fact out and it was promptly removed. Here is what they email to you:
Subject: We could not post your review of XXXXXX

Please edit and resubmit your review

Hello YYYYYY,

We could not post your review because it focuses on one or more of these topics:
  • Sellers
  • Delivery
  • Packaging
  • Pricing
  • Availability
Why isn't that allowed?

These aspects vary by order and won't be relevant to all customers. That said, we want your feedback about sellers and packaging, just not in product reviews.

Please edit and resubmit your review. Before you do, make sure it meets all of our community guidelines.
There is only one smart move to do in this case. Delete the reviews you have already written so that they can not be used for misleading customers, don't write new reviews and don't trust any reviews Amazon is doctoring to protect themselves and their curated facade.
