Are you getting the following error message
PayPal wrote:We’re having trouble making sure it’s you
when you are trying to login to PayPal? Have you changed your account settings recently? Here is a working solution to the error.

This error can occur for example after you change your password, phone number or authentication settings. There appears to be a security delay or some kind of manual or automatic check that is performed asynchronously, and after the task has been performed you will be able to login again. Just don't take any steps, panic or contact PayPal, because that will only complicate things.
Wait for 4-48 hours, keep trying again and eventually it will work. This solution has been tested with several PayPal accounts in different countries and so far it has never failed.
Happy hacking,
Santeri

Could be also a bug because this started recently, but your fix worked but I doubt they would ever admit if there was a bug. For me it took 2 hours.

PayPal is broken. Don't use it or you might lose your money.

yes I'm sick of getting this, after 14 years and all my account information correct, I still get "verify it's you" Some one in IT/security needs to get their finger out and sort this, they don't advise as how the hell to verify myself. think I may ditch paypal.

OK, but what if you use a VPN?

I tried and for me it didn't work. If they detect it, it makes it only worse.

I’ve been having this issue for more than two weeks now, no help whatsoever from useless PayPal support. I left it for more than 72 hours and it’s still giving me the same message.

Same here. I've waited like 4 days and tried again(yesterday), then tried again just now after a whole day has passed and still the same. :(

Apparently the waiting fix is no longer working and they have made the issue more permanent.
Here are some things that may trigger it:
- Do you have multiple accounts?
- Are you using PayPal from a different country than you have in the settings?
- Have you used VPN?
- Have you recently changed any settings?
- Is it possible that someone has reported you?
- Have you used PayPal from Russia or any other country the US is boycotting?
I fixed the issue permanently by closing my account. If they don't trust me, why should I trust them. Good luck!

1. I don't have multiple accounts. Had this same and first one for many years.
2. The address in my paypal profile is my real address currently, and I've never been outside of my own country.
3. Months ago I switched back to my local currency(peso) from dollar. That's the only setting I remember changing 🤔
4. I don't think anyone would report me. I pretty much mostly used paypal to buy games on Steam and other official platforms.
5. Never been to Russia, but my country is one of the many that is affected by the paypal/mastercard/visa issue, so I can't use paypal on Steam anymore like many people. But my sister and friend can still log in to their paypal accounts though so I'm not sure how strong the correlation is.
Thanks for the response!

These two could be the reason and you just got unlucky while your sister got lucky. Maybe she could let you use her account?
My account was frozen once when I changed currency and another time when I changed country. If they have not restored it in 72 hours, I am afraid your account might be gone forever and you might want to consider alternative means for games payments like gift cards.
Buena suerte.

I don't mind just asking her to share and I'm sure she'll be ok with it but is my money just completely gone from that account? It's so strange that they can just close someone's account like that and take people's money.

PayPal can do whatever without consequences just like banks. They did not in fact close your account, they just froze it indefinitely. Apparently
N26 bank may be doing the same and stealing money from their customers.
